So i've started using it and i liked it. The thing is that i needed something better than the default HTML editor so i turned to FCKeditor. My problem was that i didn't find it usefull to manually convert every textarea I needed into FCK (as discussed in previous threads) because the fields are dynamically created inside dynamically created tabs etc. So i thought "how difficult would be to create an FCKeditor extension for the ExtJS Form Fields...". Well, it is... I think this is why no one has done it yet...

Ezzel nincs is semmi probléma.

Spoiler Alert: If you like magic, stop reading. The Rails 3 UJS driver (rails.js), which powers the remote links, forms, and inputs, is not very magical when you know how it works. This article uses the jQuery UJS driver, though the Prototype UJS driver does the same thing. UJS, by the way, stands for “Unobtrusive JavaScript”. If you have any experience with jQuery, take a few minutes to check out the rails.js source. It’s pretty straight forward, and only 147 lines as of this writing. I’ll be here waiting to answer your questions when you get back.

Writing for Ruby Inside, I get to see a lot of Ruby code. Most is good, but sometimes we forget some of Ruby's shortcuts and tricks and reinvent the wheel instead. In this post I present 21 different Ruby "tricks," from those that most experienced developers use every day to the more obscure. Whatever your level, a refresh may help you the next time you encounter certain coding scenarios.

Itt ismét a "Next"-re klikkeljünk.

Yet, this is complicated by the fact that there are multiple different executables (gem, rake, cucumber, spec, rails etc) together with different gems depending on the core Ruby version - 1.8 and 1.9 will have different gems installed even on the same machine.

With a final release of Rails 3 edging closer every day it seems like a good time to revisit some of my old articles from the last few years and bring them up to date.

This plugin is getting very out of date and won't work with the newer CKEditor. However, somebody has taken my idea and code and ported it for CKEditor. An updated version of this syntax highlighting plugin that will work with CKEditor is available on Google Code.
